YES! The station to the L subway line is two short blocks away. The L train is a very fast and reliable train that cuts across 14th St in Manhattan and connects to several other subway lines. It is a short ride on the L to Union Square which is a great jumping-off point for Manhattan sight-seeing! The best part is it runs 24 hours a day!

We are a 15 minute subway ride from Union Square in Manhattan. Union Square is convenient for going to any part of the city. Some hostels that are located in Manhattan can take considerably longer to get to the popular places because they are so far North.

Our reception is staffed 24 hours a day so you can check in any time! Access to the rooms starts at 3:00 p.m. on the day of arrival due to room cleaning. If you arrive before 3:00 p.m. you are welcome to leave your luggage in our secure storage room for free.

Departing guests must check out by 11:30 a.m. Fees apply for late check-out.

Yes, please add 13.875% tax* to all reservations. Additionally, private rooms have an occupancy tax of $3.50 per room per night.

A Private Ensuite includes a private bathroom with shower inside the room. Private rooms with shared bathrooms share with a few other private rooms.

In the summer we host free BBQs in the backyard; in the winter we do fondue!

The hot tub on our roof-top terrace is perfect for basking in the summer sun or warming up on a cool night.

We have over 200 DVD's on hand that you can rent for $1 to watch either in our television lounge or on your own DVD player or laptop.

And we always have something special planned for the holidays!

We suggest the Twin Private Ensuite. Not only is it more private, but with the Twin Ensuite you are guaranteed a double bed on the bottom bunk and a twin bed on top, which is often more comfortable for couples.

Two is the maximum number of guests allowed in the Twin Private rooms and three is the maximum number of guests allowed in the 3-bed private rooms.

The price listed is per bed, however you will notice when you book this room the number of guests automatically jumps to 2 or 3. When booking a private room, you are booking all the beds. If one guest would like to sleep alone in a Twin room, he or she must pay for both beds. If 2 guests would like to sleep in a 3-bed room they also must pay for the other bed.

There are no single rooms.

The minimum age for all guests is 16 years old with a valid passport. There is no maximum age!

Towels can be rented for $2 apiece. Towels are free for all private rooms.

Fresh linens, pillows and blankets are provided. 

The maximum stay at the New York Loft Hostel is 29 nights. 

All deposits are non-refundable except with cancellation insurance. If a reservation is changed more than 24 hours before your scheduled arrival, the security deposit will be applied to the new reservation. This only applies to changes made directly with the hostel and not through any website. These change requests should be emailed to info@nylofthostel.com.
