Day 1

On your first day in the Big Apple, you can visit popular spots like the Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, Bryant Park and the Times Square.

Starting with the Empire State Building lets you relish the attraction well before the crowds and without waiting time.

Beginning with amazing city views is certainly a nice way to kick-start your trip. New York Public Library is situated near Bryant Park, so you can have a peek inside this spectacular library after you have had a luxurious stroll inside the park.

Day 2

On the second day, while the excitement of being in New York City is still fresh, you can visit other iconic spots the city is famous for like Statue of Liberty, One World Observatory and the 9/11 memorial.

Since the ferry you take to Liberty Statue begins from Battery Park you can visit the park and also view the Ellis Island as part of the ferry trip.

A guided tour is best to enjoy this world-famous monument. One World Observatory gives you one of the best bird’s eye views of the city.

Make your trip to 9/11 Museum the final one for the day as it is best seen at night all lit up and creating a spectacular and emotional impact on the onlookers.

Day 3

On your third day, enjoy New York’s splendor with a fantastic boat tour. Book a boat tour to capture the spectacular skyline shots here while you learn more about the history of the place.

Make the High line your next stop. This is a breathtaking raised park and pathway extending for about 1.5 miles. You can view all high rises in and around Chelsea and also revel in Hudson River views.

As Chelsea Market is nearby you can stop for your lunch here as it boasts of delicious eateries and burns the calories with the walk in the High Line. Make sure you start early to avoid the busy crowds and long waiting lines.

Day 4

Spend the fourth day exploring the Museum Mile, which is present along Central Park.

The Guggenheim, Met, American Museum of Natural History are the places you should not miss while you are at Central park, as both are nearby so you can save time by clubbing the two together on a single day.

Wind up your day with a visit to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and watching the night skyline of the city from Top of the Rock.

Day 5

While Brooklyn does not have as many attractions as Manhattan, there are plenty of things that take up your time here. Start the day with a walk (it takes about 20 minutes) on the Brooklyn Bridge taking pictures while the lighting is good.

Or you can plan your tour to visit at sunset which is even more breathtaking but be prepared for the busy crowds.

After crossing the bridge, visit Main Street Park or the Empire Fulton Ferry Park. Take time to explore the Dumbo area. When you finish the Brooklyn bridge walk and enter Manhattan you can visit the South Street Seaport region and Wall Street, the iconic financial hub here.

Day 6

On the sixth day, you can have a leisurely stroll on Governors Island present in lower Manhattan region. The island covering 172 acres has bike trails, parks, art exhibitions, festivals and events especially starting from April to October.

Take a ferry to the island which is free on weekends before noon. The roundtrip cost for adults is $3 while it is $1 for seniors and free for kids less than 13 years of age.

Take time to visit Oculus train station, which has replaced the station destroyed during 9/11 attack.  The awesome structure made of steel and glass is a must-see spectacle.

Day 7

Finish your weeklong trip exploring Brooklyn region visiting the Bushwick neighborhood famous for its murals and graffiti and other art collections. The area has some cool cafes and bars to relish your happy hour.

The Smorgasburg here is the ultimate food fair to visit. From Mexican street food to Thai and Swiss delights you can find diversified and sumptuous food here. Also try visiting the food court at DeKalb Market Hall, which offers good dinner or lunch options.
